The singing group Sliding Scale came out the ice. They warmed up inside the K-ICE studios and then joined Andrew Sturdevant’s tour for the ending song. Then they entered the wood fire heated MnartistS.org. A pack of dogs wrestling in and out of the shanty, the wind blowing straight across the lake down the chimney, set the stage for the choral groups amazing set. Click and listen.

Ilana Percher from the Soft Shop Shanty in the Art Shanty Projects, gave a lecture on ice. She gave it in the Warming Shanty. We learned there are more than just the ice we have the project on. We learned that ice can form at room temperature. It all has to do with the pressure it is under. The lecture was given a number of times on saturday the 27th of January.

The Vista Shanty invited the Roe Family Singers out on to the ice to perform in the luxury of the warmth and the pile of the shag. It was broadcast live to the listening audience. People entered the shanty and stood out side listening. This is a recording of this performance, it is recorded on quicktime from a radio tuned in and plugged in through the line in on the computer.
